Punat

The town of Punat is located in the southwest part of the island of Krk, situated in one of the nicest and most protected bays on the Adriatic: the bay of Punat ("Puntarska draga"). In a picturesque environment of the old town of Punat, tiny alleys and streets surrounded by traditional stone dwellings, the primal whiteness, you'll also find a newly built residential area Buka. In the closest neighborhood of Buka, you'll find numerous beaches of a different kind and landscape, too. The town of Punat has some 1,700 inhabitants.

The town of Punat is well known as a nautical tourists' center due to its marina "Punat" which is one of the leading Adriatic marinas, including a shipyard. Punat also has a true gem in the middle of its bay - the islet of Košljun with the Franciscian monestery and museum.
